I’m slowly transitioning into spring colors…
My lip products are included in this transition and might be my first full turn to lighter colors.. I’ve had my bolder and darker hues within reach, but I’m starting to opt more and more for my lighter, more sheer options, which is great news for my mini carryall in my handbag. At one point, I think I had 5 or 6 lip balms and lipsticks in there – it was too much. Lip hues can vary so much on skin tone and preference, so sometimes it’s hard to know what will work for you, but these colors are universally flattering, which makes shopping so much easier!
This NARS Velvet Gloss Pencil ‘Frivolous’ was one of my first lip colors and I still use it. It provides a nice pink glossy look and I love how easy it is to apply. It’s a little sticky, but it lasts a while. My friend Lori got me hooked on the Dior ‘Addict’ Lip Maximizer – it’s an easy gloss that picks up your naturals hues. It’s not too pink and adds a little oomph whether you’re rocking full makeup or no makeup. It’s always in my bag. If I could only have one lip product in my bag or one lip product in my collection, it would be Dior ‘Addict Lip Glow’ Color Reviver Balm ‘001 Sheer Pink’. It’s a magical combination of chapstick and a little color. If I forget lipstick or just need a quick refresh, I’ll apply this one. It’s also a good moisturizer. My love for this YSL Rouge Volupte Shine ’11 Beige Instinct’ is no secret and I’m probably wearing it in one-third to one-half of my photos on the blog because it’s so versatile. It was one of my must-haves for Fall and it’s of course on my must list for spring.
If you’re look for moisturizing lip product sans color, here are my three top picks. The Burt’s Bees Lip Balm is a household favorite. My guy and I each own a few flavors. We have it in the car and on our nightstands constantly. This EOS Smooth Lip Balm is a recent addition. When my lips were dry and sensitive this winter, the EOS balms seemed to be the only product they didn’t hate. They come in a variety of flavors, but the pomegranate raspberry and summer punch are my favorites. I don’t own the Chanel Hydra Beauty Nourishing Lip Care, but it’s on my wishlist. I sampled it on a walk through Nordstrom and was shocked at how moisturizing it was. If you’re struggling with dry lips, I’d recommend taking the splurge on this lip product. Your days of constantly reapplying chapstick will be in the past.
