The whole juice craze in the last few years has overwhelmed me – no lies. I love the emphasis on healthy fruits and vegetables, but there seems to be an overwhelming dependence on $8 juices that only fill me up for an hour or so instead of good old-fashioned produce that you have to chew or, heaven forbid, cook! While I don’t love juices as a meal replacement, I am a big fan of them as part of a nutritious snack during the day or even as a munchy-quencher after dinner! Getting a little creative in the kitchen recently, I decided to mix up a sparkling juice recipe that included some of my favorite juices for a lower calorie but still super fun and colorful treat!
These organic IZZE sparkling waters come in three flavors: blackberry pear, mandarin lime, and raspberry watermelon (you may remember it from this tasty watermelon fizz drink). Each bottle has only ten calories so it’s guilt-free. The subtle flavors are tasty on their own, but I love them paired with these juices. Here I combined blackberry pear with beet juice, raspberry watermelon with a super greens juice, and mandarin lime with carrot juice. You’ll never guess – I was absolutely shocked – but the raspberry watermelon and super greens juice was my favorite! Surprising, right? I do think the mandarin lime would be great in orange juice and the blackberry pear and raspberry watermelon would be great in cranberry juice! It’s a fun combination you can continue to experiment with until you find your favorite sparkling juice recipe. I liked the mix of 2 parts juice to 1 part sparkling water, but it’s up to you how much of each you use!
