So here’s the deal. I love the way cold shoulder tops look, but many of them aren’t functional in real life. The second you try to lift your arms, the sleeves roll up awkwardly or they prevent you from lifting your arms altogether. Walking through Nordstrom with my mom, on more than one occasion this past year, my mom has said, “that trend isn’t going to last” as we passed the cold shoulder tops and dresses. She isn’t one to predict fashion trends, so it has stopped me in my tracks each time and gotten me thinking. Because of their functionality (or lack thereof) and heeding my mom’s advice that the trend may not be around forever, I haven’t added a cold shoulder top to my wardrobe. Until now. This top is from the Point of View section in Nordstrom and seems to answer all my needs. First, it’s a fully-functioning shirt, so your movements aren’t restricted while looking fashionable. Second, it’s only $42, so I’m not breaking the bank with the top, happily trying out the trend – cautiously of course. I love the top though – it’ll be great in the summer – and it comes in four other colors. This is the first cold shoulder top outfit I’ve contrived, but many more are on the way for sure! I think they’ll be great with jeans, shorts, and skirts. And I can easily throw a jacket over it as well, which many cold shoulder tops don’t allow.
