The wedding is coming. My bridal shower is this weekend and the countdowns are getting smaller. I’m nervous and excited for everything. But honestly, I’m ready for it all to happen and for all the stress to be gone. I assume that’s normal, so I’m not worrying about it; I mean as much as I can. Through it all, however, sangria recipe creation has been a lot of fun and certainly a highlight. It’s been a test of my culinary skills, but it’s been rewarding when the flavors marry so nicely. I’m really excited to be able to “make” something personal for all of our guests. Because of the ease of this strawberry sangria (only three ingredients), it might be topping the list for the white wine sangria offering.
Of course there’s still more taste testing to go, so I can’t commit just yet. The fruity strawberries and the sweet tartness of the ginger brew are so summery and easy on the palate. If you aren’t as big of a fan of that ginger flavor, a mild ginger ale soda would be great in this recipe as well! You can see all of my sangria recipes here!
The more sangrias I do and the more cocktails I attempt to create, I begin to understand the wonder that is ginger beer. It has a stronger flavor than traditional ginger ale and it’s perfect with all the fresh fruits, juices, and sweet liqueurs out there. It’s not bad with whiskey either if we’re being honest. It has honestly become my go to mixer for it sweetness, tartness, and bubbly nature! For the summer, however, I’ll be using all my ginger beer with pinot grigio in this strawberry sangria recipe.
STRAWBERRY SANGRIA w. GINGER + PINOT GRIGIO
This simple 3-ingredient sangria was one of the first recipes I created for the cocktail hour of our wedding and it ended up being one of the two we served. It's so satisfying and delicious yet still so easy to make - exactly what we all need in the summer!
- 750 mL Pinot Grigio wine
- 12 oz. ginger beer or ginger ale
- 2 cups cut strawberries
- Combine ingredients in large pitcher.
- Refrigerate 3-4 hours.
