After a very long weekend in northern Idaho (simply gorgeous) and Portland (always a favorite), I’m back home. Our trip to Portland was amazing and relaxing, but we didn’t try tons of new places or really venture out to take it all in. The downtown area of the city is very familiar to us at this point so we mostly stuck to our old favorites (see my Downtown Portland Travel Guide). These restaurants and coffee shops are so good, I think they’re definitely worth sharing!
And while I always love traveling, all the travel of late has me pretty happy to be home for a few weeks and back to my routine – gym, healthy eating, and (if we’re being honest) sitting at my desk every day. My mom and I ventured out on a six mile hike last Thursday – unfortunately without my amazing hiking boots – and since then I haven’t wanted to move much. Sitting down and working sounds pretty fabulous at the moment. And since the sun is shining all week, this blue and white striped dress outfit will be on repeat…

This Joie dress has quickly become one of my go to summer ensembles this season. The classic colors pair so well with muted and bold colors. It’s also a little longer than most above the knee dresses, so it’s a comfortable option whenever it heats up!
And Isn’t this market tote bag adorable? The outside is knit, but the interior is fully lined with pockets. It’s perfect for holding everything you need. And those pockets are wonderful for the essentials that need to be within easy reach. I wasn’t sure how sturdy the bag would be from the photos online. As it turns out I love how structured it actually is. It’s really a high-quality bag. I LOVE the blue and red color blocking for summer and Fourth of July. Their dark gray and yellow color combo is pretty eye-catching too!
