Apparently summer is over and now it’s time for fall. Hah! This fall outfit idea was perfect when we were in Syracuse and Skaneateles a few weeks ago. It would have been the worst idea in the 105 degree heat we experienced this weekend, however.
Home for a relaxing weekend and to celebrate my birthday with family, we sweltered in the heat. We all but lived in the pool and anything with a/c! Hello afternoons at the movies! After all this heat, I think I’m ready for fall. I think I might even been ready to switch from my go-to white nail polish to oxblood, but the jury is still out…

Sadly on our travel to and from Syracuse, we seemed to get delayed at every stop. Add that to a 3 hour time difference and long flights anyway… Well, let’s just say I needed some extra under eye concealer and I got a lot of reading done!
Luckily I LOVED the book I was reading – A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. I read his previous book Rules of Civility a few years ago and liked it enough, but it wasn’t an absolute favorite. I picked this one up at Barnes & Noble a month or two back purely by the title and loved the plot.
A Gentleman in Moscow Review
Confined to the walls of a historic, grand hotel in Moscow, Count Rostov makes the best of his friends, his encounters, and his jovial attitude. The story covers decades of Russian political history all while discussing the somehow exciting yet familiar happenings of the Count’s life.
You hate his enemies and love his friends (big and small). You feel as though you’ve moved into the hotel, understanding its outward appearance all while knowing the backways between rooms, restaurants, and relatively obscure hideaways! Every time I picked the book up, I didn’t want to put it down. I really loved it and absolutely recommend it!!
