Sometimes I seriously wonder why I call myself a fashion blogger… I mean, I know nobody’s going to snap my photo at New York Fashion Week (not my scene really), but still. Take this jacket, for example. I saw it at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year and added it to my cart before blinking an eye about how I would wear any embroidered leather jacket outfit.
It was my top pick from the sale. When it showed up, I considered returning it, thinking I just wasn’t cool enough to wear something like this (yes, even bloggers have those thoughts too). It was just so cute though, I couldn’t part with it.
Embroidered Leather Jacket Outfit
So, I decided I could only wear it with a tshirt and jeans. Then I threw it over a white dress that was a little too feminine for what I was feeling. And, now, I feel quite comfortable in it. I’m so happy I kept it.
In the meantime, however, I’ve discovered that this jacket has been around for a few years now and I might have been the last one on the embroidered leather jacket outfit train. But you know, that’s ok. Obviously, the style is lasting enough to still be popular and obviously it wasn’t matching my style until this year.
So while everyone else is buying the latest and greatest things, you and I can rejoice that we’re a little slower to pick up on some trends and sometimes clothes do just feel too cool (when in reality, we are totally cool enough to wear them)…
We shot these photos at Santa Monica Pier (yep, just above where we took these tank top/maxi dress outfit photos). I immediately felt like I was walking into a scene from BIG (the Zoltar machine really completed that feeling).
I was already getting warm before 10am when we visited this time. So I don’t think I’ll be making any plans to head back this summer. When it cools down, I might try a fun (midweek) trip to the Pier. Cuz I do still want to ride the rides and enjoy a milkshake or burger!
