Family Gift Ideas + Host/Hostess Gift Ideas
It’s official. I bought my first holiday gift. I almost have two people crossed off my gift list. Start laughing at me now. It’s fine. It always takes me a little time to get into the swing of gift ideas for everyone on my list, but eventually I get there. Coming up with thoughtful gift ideas for everyone on my list is tricky, but one of the things I’ve started doing in the last few years is coming up with family gift ideas. I have no idea what to get some of my nieces and nephews – teenage boys may be the most difficult gift recipient for me, but getting something fun for the whole family is always a winner. The trick to getting a good family gift is including something for everyone in the family (kids + adults). I recently looked into Hickory Farms Gift Baskets and loved the wide variety they offer – literally something for everyone. I was initially drawn to the gifts baskets with wine, but then I wandered around the site to find other gifts that were even more ideal for the families on my list.
These delicious and elegantly-packaged food gifts are also wonderful host and hostess gifts. You can bring them with you to have your arms full when you ring the doorbell or have them sent directly to save the room and energy of bringing it yourself. All the items are shipped with careful wrapping to protect the food inside (so important with food gifts). To show you just how much they care about their food, they sent the white and dark chocolate peppermint bark in it’s own package, so the mint wouldn’t flavor the other items. Talk about thinking it all through! So, let’s get on with the tasty options for those on your list…
hickory farms gift baskets w. the famous hickory farms summer sausage
The Hickory Farms Gift Baskets offerings are amazing. For my sister, her husband, and their three kids, I picked out the Hickory Farms Grand Snack Tower that has two types of sausage, four cheeses, sweet hot mustard (yum!), shortbread, peanut brittle, a nut mix, and snow peppermints. Talk about everything you associate with this time of year. I know my brother-in-law will love the sausage and mustard. My sister and niece will likely keep the peppermints for themselves. And I’m sure my nephews will enjoy it all!! I also love that the tower has a bunch of boxes, so the whole family can unwrap something!!
For young couples and couples with small children, I really like the Hickory Farms Simply Harvest Fruit Basket. This Hickory Farms Gift Basket also comes with sausage, cheese, and whole grain mustard. To round it out, however, are ten pears and apples all perfectly placed in the basket and ripe! It has the makings of a fruit, cheese, and meat board without a trip to the store. I’ve said it many times before, but you shouldn’t underestimate how much people really enjoy fresh fruit. I also love how beautiful the basket looks when it arrives – it’s a presentation in and of itself! This one will be perfect for our best friends!
The Holiday Treasure Chest is another great option for young couples. It features both beef and turkey sausage, smoked gouda cheese, peppermint snow mints, and Hickory Farms’ peanut brittle popcorn with a chocolate drizzle that is DANGEROUSLY delicious!! You can see I couldn’t keep my hands out of the package!
Chocolatey food gift ideas
No matter who’s on your gift list, however, delicious chocolate is always a good idea, isn’t it? In addition to my family and friends, I also have a number of people on my list who I just want to send a little something to let them know how much I appreciate having them in my life. Think teachers, coworkers, and neighbors!! For them, I picked out the peppermint bark I mentioned above and the Hickory Farms Signature Chocolates. Both morsels are $20 or less and are packed full of flavor. Now I just have to try not to break into the tasty gifts I picked out for all those lovely people in my life. Self-control is hard sometimes!
