Date Night Ideas at Home
When you live with your significant other, dinners out and heading to the movies become part of the norm and are no longer considered a date. Similarly evenings together at home used to make my heart flutter and now I get them almost on the daily, so my appreciation for those nights together isn’t as great as it should be. While we dream of going out to decadent dinners and tasting menus across the city, many Friday nights, neither of us have the energy to leave the house. Usually, we opt for watching a movie. Instead of defaulting to watching a show or movie, however, we do like to occasionally plan out movie nights for a date night at home! It’s really nothing fancy, but a nice bottle of wine, popcorn, candy, and a preselected movie (somehow so crucial) really make an evening at home together seem a bit out of the ordinary and on the verge of extraordinary. My husband and I have our standard set of movies we default too, but now that it’s the holiday season, we’ll starting working out way through our favorite Christmas movies. Before you run away thinking it’s all Deck the Halls and Ho, Ho, Ho, check out our list. Trading Places (an absolute favorite), Love Actually, Die Hard (the first one), Home Alone 1 and 2, and Muppet Christmas Movie. My sister is obsessed with National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, but my husband just can’t stand it (don’t tell her)! So with our movies out and ready to go, our bottle of wine opened, and our favorite candies within reach, we’re set for our fair share of date nights at home in the next two months…
romantic date night ideas at home for him
The fun part about having a date night at home is that it takes pretty much no prep and either person can do it (or both)! After you set up the drink and food, get that cuddle space ready! I cleared off the table since we both like to put our feet up and laid out pillows and blankets, including my PediPocket – perfectly festive for the season too. It still isn’t quite chilly enough here in LA for my guy to get under the blanket with me, but me (and my feet) are all cozy in the foot pocket and all that six foot of cozy. I’m happy as a clam, leaning on him as we make our way through the first movie (I think I’m pushing for Die Hard)!
If you missed my PediPocket Review, you should check it out. The blanket is long and cozy (great for cold feet) and it comes in a number of great colors and patterns!!
