If you enjoyed the “Some Bunny Loves Me” Easter table decor, then you’re gonna FALL IN LOVE with this Cinco de Mayo decorations roundup. My sister, Jo, is almost too good at scheming decor, color palettes, and the smallest details to throw the perfect party. Sometimes I seriously doubt that we’re related since she’s so great at this and I’m really very not, BUT that’s not stopping me from absolutely loving these posts!! While she might add everything to her cart, I’d pick out a few items and call it a raging success! I’m dying over all the succulent party decor below, but honestly, I’d wear the “Let’s Taco Bout a Party” tees in a heartbeat and if I received those party invitations, there’s no way I could RSVP no!
‘Taco Bout a Party” Cinco de Mayo Decorations
If you really want to go all out with a party, matching tops are the way to go. The thing I love about these Taco Bout a Party Tanks and the v-neck tees is that you can wear them long past May 5th! Every Taco Tuesday (or any day ending in ‘y’ in our house) is the perfect occasion.
For a fun and easy Cinco de Mayo decorations setup, these Taco Bout a Party balloons and especially the customized banner make a statement, but they aren’t much work. Place them above the food table, or if you’re ready for a photo booth, they can be the decor!
Besides the adorable succulent art, these fiesta invitations also have the taco party theme. Finishing details for this part of the theme? Super fun napkins, a sparkly gold cake topper, and ‘Taco Bout a Party’ Plates!
But honestly, if you really want to know where my heart is in all of these cute Cinco de Mayo decorations, it’s with the succulents…
Succulent Party Decor | Cinco de Mayo Decorations
You all know I’m a sucker for succulents. But I know know you all are too! When Jo sent me all these links, she straight up said, we can do this for your birthday if you want! Y’all. My birthday isn’t until September and I’m almost ready for it to happen now. Ok, not quite yet, but the prospect of a succulent themed party does make it more exciting!
I can’t pick a favorite of all of these morsels, so this might be the section in which I add EVERYTHING to my cart. No shame, right? Well, maybe a little shame since each of these items is for dessert, and I certainly need some veggies before my dessert.
First up, are the cactus fondant cake toppers. Whether you make your own cupcakes or buy them from the bakery, top them with a cute fondant cactus. Of course, these are some awesome non-edible options that you can use for your Cinco de Mayo decorations and again for your birthday celebrations! The gold or glitter cactus cake toppers are available for cakes and in a smaller size for cupcakes. If you’re going the cake route, then the cute cactus cake server is a fun touch.
The adorable cacti on the bottom cake in the photo above are also reusable. I love the idea of using graham cracker crumbs on the cake to ‘plant’ the cacti. My sister also had the AMAZING IDEA of pouring decorative sand (available via Amazon) in the middle of the table and placing miniature succulents down the center. Finish it off with fun cactus paper plates because nobody wants to get stuck doing the dishes (I tried to make a cactus joke there – did it work?)!
But if you really want to take the impossibly cute and easy way out, Cactus Cake Pops, people!! I would be apprehensive about ordering desserts like this from ETSY, but my sister has ordered various cookies a few times from ETSY and they’re always the perfect touch and quite tasty!! So, I say do it!
Mexican Party Ideas
Now that you have all the decorations ordered, let’s talk about food and drinks!! Que delicioso! First up, drinks. Jo suggests bottles of Dos Equis and 7Up made in Mexico (with real sugar). Both are green and will add perfectly to the decor and flavors! Wondering how to elegantly serve the drinks? This obnoxiously adorable copper drink tub is it. After that, it’s margarita time of course. Serve your margaritas in these stacking acrylic margarita glasses or these green-speckled rim glasses (from Target!) on this matching copper drink tray.
Next, wow your guests with homemade tortillas in this tortilla maker and let your guests serve themselves from this triple slow cooker. Fill crocks with rice, beans, and your meat of choice! You can also do premade tacos in this Taco Rack for easy serving.
Finish with dessert on the wood marble pedestal. Cake pops or cupcakes and cakes topped with succulent cake toppers will be perfect on this neutral dessert serving platter!
Anybody else ready for Cinco de Mayo and all the decorations and delicious food that comes with it?!
