Way back in January, I know this seems silly, I was online window shopping on Nordstrom (one of my guilty pleasures) and found these Nine West slides. I ordered them and was so happy when they arrived. I wore them for a few moments here and there (mostly around the house) until spring’s arrival. When spring finally arrived, I was traipsing through Scotland in my fleece-lined rain boots. But now I’m back to spring-ish weather (summer is still on vacation over here) and I’ve been wearing these black slides in more and more. This maxi dress and blazer outfit is just the beginning…
Slide Sandal Trend
So, why are these sandals so great? Slide sandals are VERY in these days, but most of them provide no support (i.e. they’re flat front to back). These slides have a short heel, a sturdy sole, AND the strap holds your foot in place which is wonderful if you have sensitive feet (like me) and like to get your 10,000 steps per day (also like me)! These sandals are just $79 in black, but there are five other colors available form $40-$50 on Zappos! Sadly they’re out of my size in the mustard color, but I put my name on that waitlist in case it comes back in stock!
Metallic FitBit Band
Ok. Now the other thing I’m newly obsessed with. You know I’m a FitBit aficionado (hence the 10,000 steps). I wrote an honest review of my fitbit here and I’m sure you all see it peaking out of my sleeve from time to time. I usually opt for the tan leather band, loving the classic look. But I could see it starting to show some wear and I wanted another option. So, I went on a hunt. I’d seen a few people with this style band and just thought they were so stylish, but I didn’t know where to get them. One day, I googled “designer fitbit band.” Besides a Tory Burch one for the smaller style FitBit, only Amazon and Etsy came up. I knew that wasn’t right, so I kept searching – with no luck.
So, I finally clicked on the Amazon link for the “designer fitbit band” only to find the exact band I’d seen on a few others for $13! Ugh. So, I bought that (along with the hair serum I needed of course) and have been wearing it nonstop since then. I love that it’s fine with jeans and a tank or with ensembles more like this maxi dress and blazer. Really it goes with whatever I want! I’m tempted to try another color, but I haven’t gotten there yet.
This is the rose gold color in a small. The closure is magnetic instead of a classic style “buckle,” which gives it a smaller profile. There’s only one little caveat with this FitBit band. It has a magnetic closure, so every once in a while my fitbit and my necklace become momentarily attached. I find it all very funny and usually nobody notices!
