Look everyone, a second dress this week!! I’ve long been a sucker for midi skirts and dresses. I buy shorter ones, but I really like them to at least hit my knee to feel comfortable. I’ve wanted to add some casual skirts to my closet this summer but hadn’t found too many I loved at a price I wanted to pay (since I don’t wear skirts all the time, it seemed silly to invest). I stumbled on this navy blue gingham dress set (actually a 2-piece matching coordinates situation) on super sale, so I bought it figuring a few wears would justify that bargain…
Navy Blue Gingham Dress Outfit Ideas
Full disclosure, I didn’t plan to ever wear the bandeau when I ordered the skirt. The set was on sale for $25 (regularly $50), so I wasn’t losing much. Anyway, the skirt arrived and while my normal crop tanks, etc. looked fine with the skirt, I decided to try the bandeau on anyway and was surprisingly pleased with how it looked. I hiked up the skirt a bit to cover most of my midsection and ended up with a navy blue gingham dress (that’s secretly two pieces). If you’re ready to show a bit of your tummy, you can adjust accordingly…
Best Denim Jacket Brand
Also, since I’m not big on strapless items (broad shoulders and a small chest don’t lend themselves well to the style), I threw my trusty denim jacket over it to stay a bit more modest and feel that much more comfortable! I also have this jacket in a light wash that I wear even more than this darker version. I absolutely love these KUT from the Kloth denim jackets. It’s also available in white and a medium blue wash.
And while we’re on the topic, if you haven’t checked out all the KUT denim on sale at Nordstrom right now, you absolutely should. There are tons of great styles and washes available. I’ve always loved their Diana, Catherine, and Mia Toothpick cuts. You can read my KUT from the Kloth denim guide here.
