Just when I think summer should be winding down (because of the date), I realize that I’m fully in the swing of things and that the weather doesn’t care what the date is! This maxi dress and hat outfit (and similar others) have been on repeat for the last few weeks because they’re so easy and comfortable. This black maxi dress is that dress I talked about from Peach (I mentioned it here). It has a built-in shelf bra with removable pads for more coverage. The straps have a good amount of elastic in them, so they super comfortable and there are slits on the side that go up to just below your news, so it’s comfortable and covering just enough all at the same time…
How to Style a Maxi Dress and Hat
This big floppy hat is the same one I wore in this off the shoulder dress outfit. It’s been my go to hat for all dresses this summer. It’s cute, cool, and keeps my head and face wonderfully shaded. I think dresses like this are one of the few solutions to a stylish summer. They’re great on their own and with just a few simple additions, they can be dressed up quite a bit. My solution to styling a maxi dress and hat outfit? Adding a few pieces of favorite jewelry and a fun straw tote bag. I wore this to a quick coffee date one hot morning last week (more on the cafe below) and then back home for my workday. Unsurprisingly, I was happily comfortable all day long!
TOMS Roasting Co. Coffee on Abbot Kinney
I’ve been hearing about the coffee shop in the TOMS (yes the shoe company) store on Abbot Kinney for a few years. For whatever reason, I hadn’t tried it out. I think I imagined having to walk through the store and with no intent of buying a pair of TOMS recently, it hadn’t felt right. A friend recently recommended we give it a go, however, so in we went.
When you walk in, there are a handful of chairs and then the cafe is at the top of a few stairs – front and center! You can then wander further into the store to shop their sunglasses, shoes, etc. In the back you’ll find a small outdoor area with seating. There were a few people on the phone, a business meeting, new parents grabbing coffee, and us. It was a real mix of everything you’d expect in Venice! The coffee was delicious and part of their One for One program that provides fresh water to those in need around the world, so order a coffee, buy some beans, and enjoy a morning sip in their very fun coffee shop!
