Thank you to Cracker Barrel for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own.
It’s finally starting to cool down here in LA, which means going outside isn’t such an undertaking. I’m tired of trying to master the art of getting dressed and not wearing too many clothes for the heat. Of course this is all while I’m enthusiastically pinning outfit ideas for blazers and scarves. Life is so hard! But I digress… I also have a few weeks before I teach again, so I really want to take advantage of my free days.
You know I love going on afternoon walks, but I also love finding places outside of my house to get a little work done. It’s funny; I usually like to do the to-dos that are slightly out of my ordinary in coffee shops. The normal day-to-day is best at home in my office, but the creative juices start flowing when I switch up my surroundings.
Snacks on the Go
When I’m finding a home-away-from-home workspace, I usually opt for coffee shops in LA (there are just so many great options). Because I’m out for a walk, I often need a good snack to go along with my coffee or tea. The problem is, most coffee shops seem to offer only sweet morsels, “carby morsels,” or full meals. While they’re tempting, I’m not apt to get any of them. So I opt for bringing my own snacks!
I recently got to try a few of the Cracker Barrel Plates, which include delicious Cracker Barrel artisan cheeses, crackers, and a sweet. Have you tried them yet? My pick (at least this week) is the plate with extra sharp cheddar cheese, butter crackers, and a crisp sugar cookie. I love that it has a little protein, a little crunch, and a little sweet. It’s perfect for my afternoon coffee or tea sesh at the coffee shop. And just the right amount to help my workflow get going and stay strong!
