A long, long time ago – let’s call it 2014, I got one of my first ‘gifted’ pieces of clothing as a blogger. The UK-based brand Fat Face sent me a top and a pair of pants. The pants fit ok, nothing great, but the top was practically perfect. It was cute, soft, and long enough for my long torso. Four years later and that shirt is still one of my favorites come fall and winter. When we were in Boston a few weeks ago, we stumbled on Fat Face shops and I found another tee in the collection to add to my wardrobe, making the perfect yellow striped shirt outfit…

These Fat Face tops are made of organic cotton. They come in mostly muted stripes and I just love them. Now that I have the navy and yellow stripe, the red might need to be next. Or the navy with white stripes? I really can’t decide. When we were in the store, however, I saw that they also had 3/4-length sleeve tops of the same style – though a smaller cut – in solid black (YES!!!). I nabbed one of those, in a size up because of the cut, and have been wearing that one quite a bit as well.
I love this yellow striped shirt outfit since it combines my favorite monochrome, black-based style with a fun albeit muted, pop of color. One of the things I like most about my style is that it’s so easy to work pieces together – there’s not much clashing in black, white, tan, and gray. Because of this, it’s easy to add a small bit of color here and there and have it make a bolder statement. These small, yellow stripes add a color otherwise missing in my wardrobe. And we know I’ll wear it since it’s so soft and comfortable!
