With November well under way, my skin and beauty concerns have pretty much one focus – dryness! Between the winds and the smoke in the air (thankfully not terrible in my area), my skin seems to be dry every five minutes. I’m using hand lotion and applying lip balm like they’re going out of style and I still can’t seem to get a handle on it. So this month’s beauty picks are focused mainly on body products and ones that help with hydration and happiness, including an organic body lotion, a body scrub, a delightful body wash, and a great hand soap. Each of these are wonderful green beauty companies to keep on your radar – all of them are available via some combination of Target, Amazon, and Anthropologie – and none of them is super expensive!
Nourish Organic Body Lotion Review
I’ve been trying to find a body lotion that’s free of all the things (e.g. parabens, sulfates, etc.), but that also smells good and is moisturizing. Walking through Sprouts a few weeks ago, I picked up this Nourish Organic body lotion. The lotion also comes in lavender mint (available at Target too), but the fig is what caught my eye. The lotion smells delightful and I’ve been loving it. They also have a range of other products and I might try the body butter next time!
Herbivore Coco Rose Body Polish Review
You know I’m a sucker to try just about any body scrub. I fell in love with the Herbivore Jasmine Body Oil, so I was equally excited to try the rose body polish. It’s made with coconut oil and perfect for all skin types. The scrub helps with dry skin and the rose helps with redness. I’ve been using it after dry brushing (see my post on dry brushing here), before shaving in the shower!
Esker Body Wash
You might remember the Esker Body Oil from my post on body oils for sensitive skin. With that same happy, outdoorsy smell, this body wash is divine. I’ve been using the clarifying body wash with cypress, rose geranium, and jasmine. You instantly feel happily clean and the packaging is beautiful! Esker also offers a firming body wash with juniper, lavender, rose geranium, and grapefruit as well as a restorative body wash with carrot seed, rosemary, bergamot, frankincense, and ylang ylang.
Raw Sugar Natural Hand Wash Review
Another Target find (see all the great green beauty brands at Target), this Raw Sugar hand soap is a new favorite. In my quest to add more clean products to our routine (it’s a slow process), I was ecstatic to find this Southern California-based company on my Target shelf. The Green Tea, Cucumber, and Aloe is my favorite scent thus far, but there are 5 scents form which to choose. There’s also Vanilla Bean + Sugar; Raw Coconut + Mango; Lemon Sugar; and Almond Milk + Agave + Oatmeal. They come in eco-friendly packaging with bamboo tops. Besides great hand soap, the company also offers body wash, bar soap, body scrub (probably next on my list!), body lotion, shampoo and conditioner, and lip balms. Whoa!
