I am a California/West Coast gal to my core as you all know, but there is one thing I wish we had more of on the west coast. Brick buildings. We don’t have that colonial history or the intense winters that lead to brick buildings. Alas, I have to travel to get my fill my void of brick architecture. And it also means I fall weirdly in love with the few such buildings here in LA – even if they’re abandoned. Maybe I should talk to my architect-husband about more brick in LA…
Blanket Scarf | Leather Jacket Outfit
I bought this blanket scarf about three years ago and just rediscovered it. I’m not sure I wore it more than once last year, but I seem to be making up for it this year. You all know I don’t do much in the way of pink, but this adds a fun pop of color to my all too familiar jeans and leather jacket ensemble. There are a variety of ways to wear a blanket scarf, but I like to fold it into a triangle and then do a single loop around my neck. This lets the longer pieces hang down and keep me warmer even with my jacket unzipped.
My Love for Loafers
My love of loafers seems to know no end. I have two black pairs that I seem to wear nonstop and I’m constantly looking for new pairs online. I’m currently obsessed with this Botkier pair with a huge bow. The reviews all note how cute and comfortable they are – my favorite sartorial combination! I’m also eyeing this Via Spiga pair with that sleek crossbar. I wish the other colors weren’t patent leather, but I guess I can’t have my cake and eat it too. Perhaps just a third pair of black loafers?! Hah!
