Happy New Year! Everyone seems to be ditching resolutions this year, but the detox plans and diets are still in full force! I’m not detoxing or dieting, but I am trying to get out and walk as much as possible. Sadly it cut into my productivity last week and I’m traveling this week, but alas – I feel so much better moving my legs! We had a busy time with families and our short trip to Vancouver (guides coming soon of course). In the meantime, I’ve been living in this Everlane Sweater and trying to find any excuse I can to wear these heeled booties with jeans. . .

Everlane
In my quest for California clothing brands for my California Series (put on hold from fires affecting Karen, my photographer, and my family), I got to do a little more research on Everlane. The company has all their clothing made in factories with fair wages and environmental standards that meet their highest level. They also try to charge more fairly for the great pieces. When this sweater first showed up, I considered returning it as it seemed too short for my long torso, but I stalled and eventually gave in to trying it out. Now I’ve worn it so much, it’s in the pile to take to our dry cleaners for a deep-down clean! It’s well-made and looks lovely!
Booties with Jeans
Considering how much I’ve worn my Marc Fisher booties (both pairs), I was on the hunt for another pair. I also was looking for a pair of heeled booties that were fairly comfortable and not 6″ tall – apparently no small feat. These boots have a solid, sturdy heel and I love the slouchy ankle, making them easy to pull on! I can picture them with long dresses and skirts in the spring, but until them, it’s all booties with jeans for me!
