The weather is nowhere near fall like and I’m certainly not trying to rush it (I’ve basically missed the whole summer as it is), but there’s something about those fall clothes colors I just can’t resist. I love me some good olive green, but then the burgundy, navy, and tan always feel so right. And, well, you know my sentiments about black basics (especially black jeans)!
I love the transition between seasons – something I hope to enjoy more of now that we’re in northern California again (one day in!). If the weather isn’t cooperating with my emotional needs for the next season, I usually start with a nail polish change. Then a purse. And then possibly shoes. None of these really affect my temperature, so they’re the freebies!
My Favorite Fall Accessory
Ok. But then it’s scarves. And scarves and scarves and scarves til spring! I really do love scarves and they can go with everything from a tank top to a long, wool coat! I also love wearing scarves around my shoulders in the evenings! They’re perfect.
When we lived in LA, “fall” happened sometimes around February and didn’t always last too long. And then it’d return in May/June with the overcast gray weather. It never felt quite right. There are many things I love about returning to Nor Cal, but the weather and, more importantly, the seasons (all four of them) are one of my biggest joys! Moving all our stuff was a headache – as it always is – but every coat, every pair of boots, and every cold weather thing brought me so much joy. I get to wear them all again!
