When we visited London last month, we had few plans as I’ve told you, but there was one thing we planned to do (more than once). When we visited Borough Market, we absolutely fell in love with all the food and fun. Well, and most importantly the coffee! Just after arriving in London this last time, we dropped our bags at the flat and boarded the Tube to get our hands on some Borough Market food and coffee for our week in one of my favorite cities!
Borough Market Food
When we were at the market before, it was on the days around Christmas and New Year’s. Because of the holidays, it was quite crowded with holiday shoppers and tourists (present company included). Since we were visiting in early March, I hoped for fewer people. And I was pleasantly pleased with just how easy it was to navigate (and enjoy) the offerings.
On that first day in London, we bought some produce, an afternoon goodie, and Monmouth coffee grounds. It’s a bold statement for us to say that Monmouth is one of our favorite coffee producers in the world. But I think we would both say so without hesitation!
And then before we left London, we wanted to go back for some Borough Market food, coffee, and goodies to take home! Since we had time and the crowds were basically nonexistent, we were able to do a video tour of all the tastiness available. {see more food and travel videos here} The market itself isn’t huge, but there is so much to get there!!!
There are a few beautiful produce stands as well as some scrumptious bakery stalls. And then there’s the cheesemongers, olive oil tasters, fishmongers, and butchers. And as you wander to the back area, you’ll find loads of ready to eat morsels from falafel, curries, meat pies, and so, so, SO much more. This is where we go for lunch. And then of course, just across from the front of Borough Market is Monmouth Coffee. Enjoy this tasty tour…
