So for the first time in…well…ever, I think, my husband and I woke up in the middle of the night because we were cold. Since that frigid morning a few weeks ago (and it’s been much colder since), we’ve been adopting cold weather necessities and practices around the house. I’ve also moved into cozy pajamas for fall and winter.
In the meantime, we’re layering on the blankets and keeping the heat on very low at night (a must with our little guy who refuses to sleep with his arms tucked away and has a habit of kicking out of all blankets)!
My husband is having a hard time adjusting to the needs of sleeping in cozy pjs, but I’m working on that.
For now I’m eyeballing a cozy pair of long pant pajamas which I’ve had absolutely no need for in the last six years.
I’ve always been picky about what I sleep in – as everyone is, I assume. I want things that are soft and loose, nothing skimpy but nothing cumbersome either.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve embraced coordinating pj sets, but it took me a long time and it wasn’t until my mom bought me a pair of pink floral crop pants and matching top by Carole Hochman that I really understood (I still have that set!)…
When I was a young teenager, my brother gave me his T-shirt from being a paratrooper in the Army. Before long, I’d worn it into soft oblivion and there were large holes along the screen print. And I continued to wear in for many years after. I can’t remember the hole that finally forced me to move on, but it was a sad, sad day!
Truth be told, I’d still opt for that soft tee and a comfy pair of cropped sweats, but since that shirt is now only a happy memory, these cute, cozy pajama sets will have to do!!
I’m not sure if I’m ready for long pants and a long sleeve top while I sleep, but I can always mix the two pieces of a set with other pieces in my wardrobe – a T-shirt with the pants or cropped pants with the long sleeve top!!
Now if I can just get my husband into pj pants or a long sleeve shirt while we sleep…. wish me luck!
