I don’t think I could be more excited for today’s post and, especially, the video! Ever since I discovered you could save Instagram posts in “folders” of sorts, I’ve been planning trips on the social media platform. I’ve been wanting to create a video on how to use Instagram to plan your next trip for months. Maybe a year now?. My intern has been a lifesaver in helping me boost up my video collection (subscribe to my YouTube Channel here to help!). I asked if she could do the split screen thing for this video. When she said yes, I may have squealed…
How to Use Instagram to Plan Your Next Trip
Social media is such a treasure trove for discovering what’s hot, what’s beautiful, and what’s delicious near and far. I actually don’t use it for LA – I totally should though! I do, however, use it to save ideas for places to go on upcoming trips or destinations to which I secretly want to visit. It’s a great way to plan your trip without depending on those top ten lists. I feel as though they all seem to share the same spots.
I started my London collection when we visited in 2016 and I’ve just been adding to it since then whenever I find something. Of course, our upcoming trip has me adding more often now. In this video I’m sharing the beginning of my research for a few days in Prague in March. What I love most about using Instagram to plan my travel is that I don’t have to do all the planning at once. I can save places as I come across them in my feed. I can also save a bunch of places at one time if I’ve found a great account or hashtag!
I’m also sharing how to save places/addresses on Instagram to your maps app. This method is helpful for finding those saved places near you at any given time. Let’s be honest. When you’re traveling, sometimes you just need food NOW.
