VANILLA WAFFLES

If there's ever a dessert with cardamom on the menu, you can guarantee I'll order it. It's such a delicious flavor that isn't used nearly enough. This waffle recipe highlights the tasty spice but not in a dessert! Though the flavors might sound a little too unique, I can't encourage you enough to give them a go!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2-3 teaspoons cardamom
  • ½ cup sliced, blanched almonds

Instructions

  • Preheat waffle iron.
  • Measure milk and add vinegar. Set aside. Mix eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and milk mixture in large bowl. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well.
  • Scoop heaping ½ Cup spoonfuls onto waffle iron. Remove waffles when desired crispiness is achieved. Some waffles may require flipping and a few extra minutes to cook through.
