This homemade strawberry margarita recipe is delicious and very easy. Made with fresh fruit, strawberry margaritas on the rocks will be your new favorite seasonal sip!
Add the strawberries and water to a small blender or food processor. Puree until smooth. Transfer to a fine mesh colander set over a bowl. Let rest for 5 minutes, then gently stir to separate the puree from some of the seeds. Transfer the puree to a cocktail shaker.
Add the tequila, Cointreau, and lemon juice to the shaker. Add a handful of ice. Shake until chilled, about 20 seconds.
Salt the rim of two serving glasses (about 10 ounces in size) if desired. Fill each glass with ice. Strain the cocktail into each glass. Garnish with strawberries and serve.
Notes
8 strawberries come in all sizes. 8 ounces of strawberries is close to 1¼ cup of berries. You can use lime juice or lemon juice for this margarita recipe. Lemon and strawberries are a wonderful pairing, but lime juice will be just as delicious (just a slightly different flavor).the simple syrup is option because our tastes are different and because strawberries don't all have the same sweetness. Fresh, ripe seasonal strawberries will be far sweeter than those that aren't as ripe.
