Don’t fret. I haven’t lost my mind. I know this looks a lot like Tuesday’s Fresh Fruit Appetizer Board. There are a lot of similarities (everything from that smaller board is definitely on this larger one), but there are some tasty additions as well to this easy appetizer!
So, why two separate posts you ask? Offerings like this easy fruit and cheese board are stress-less and are the perfect way to have guests over! So, I wanted to share a smaller version first that wasn’t difficult at all to imagine putting together yourself and then this larger board that is actually quite similar!

I started with slicing 1-2 apples and 3-4 persimmons (fuyu and cinnamon persimmons here). Next I added two bunches of those delicious Christmas Crunch Grapes, doubled up on the crackers, and added a bit more honey to my bowl.
The only additions are the herbed goat cheese, the dried papaya slices, and the trail mix. You can use store bought trail mix, but I LOVE this homemade Omega Trek Mix (a Trader Joe’s copycat recipe that is always in my pantry). That’s literally it!
Having people over to your house can seem so scary, but if you put together something as simple as this, you don’t even really need to do any more. Have your guests bring drinks and you’ll be good to go!
Except for the goat cheese, all of these things are almost guaranteed to be in my house. And I often have goat cheese on hand as well, so it’s a super simple thing to throw together! Depending on what you have, pears, oranges, and even kiwis would be fine alternatives.
If you don’t have goat cheese, slice whatever cheese you have on hand. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Every piece is delicious, so never fear your guests won’t love it!
Simple Appetizer Board for 8
If you're entertaining 8, don't fret about over the top appetizers. This simple appetizer board is the perfect mix of small bites for a crowd just before dinner.
- 1-2 apples sliced
- 3-4 persimmons sliced
- 2 bunches grapes
- 1 cup herbed goat cheese
- ⅓ cup honey
- dried papaya slices
- 1-2 cups trail mix
Add honey, trail mix, and herbed goat cheese to smalls bowls.
Arrange bowls and sliced fruit on platter.
Fill in with stacks of crackers and grapes.
