Pomegranate Sangria

Pomegranate Sangria Riunite Lambrusco Sangria

Ready for a glass of sweet and festive Riunite Lambrusco Pomegranate Sangria? Of course you are. And I certainly am too! Time is flying by this season. It’s to be expected during the holiday season, I suppose, but it’s always a little unexpected too, isn’t it?

My sangria recipe skills have definitely come a long way since the first one I made my Winter Sangria. That first sangria is certainly a favorite recipe, but I’ve been slowly learning the art of less is more, but only if you have just the right flavor combinations.

Luckily, this Lambrusco pomegranate sangria is just right and easy enough not to stress us out this holiday season. Sidenote, if you want a corresponding mocktail, this pomegranate lemonade is it!

I’ve learned more about different wine varieties and what sorts of fruits do what when left to mingle with wine for hours on end.

My general guideline is that the sweeter the fruit, the drier the wine you want to use. Tarter fruits are in need of a sweeter wine.

Because pomegranate and ginger are both tart flavors, Riunite Lambrusco is the perfect wine to mix with those two flavors. It’s slightly sweet, slightly fizzy, and more than slightly fun!

What is Lambrusco?

Lambrusco is a sweet, sparkling red wine from Italy that provides just the right balance in this sangria. The fizzy bubbles are so fun and festive.

Since we all want recipes that are delicious, festive, and (maybe most of all) easy this time of year, a lambrusco sangria is the best way to go.

It’s fizzy nature adds fun without any extra work or items to pick up at the store and the deep red color is just to die for. Add in a few easy ingredients, mix, and let it sit in the fridge to marry while you get ready (or wrap presents) – whatever you need!

Is Riunite Lambrusco the only wine to use?

Nope! Any Lambrusco wine would be tasty in this sangria recipe!

What to serve with Lambrusco?

Whether you’re making this pomegranate sangria or just enjoying a lovely Lambrusco on its own, you’ll want to pair it with dishes from its home region (in Italy).

Great examples are anything with dried or grilled meats, savory cheeses, and salty vegetables. Try this breakfast charcuterie board setup, grilled veggie antipasto, or these make-ahead veggie hors d’oeuvres.
