Refillable Cleaning Products - Common Good Review

You now I love refillable cleaning products – well refillable anything, right?! Fewer dispensers, fewer trips to the store or orders online, and I’m ALL IN…

I’ve done a big post on sustainable shopping with refill pouches. Though complicated, refill pouches are a more sustainable option here in the US.

Why are they complicated? Most refill pouches are a mix of plastics and not recyclable – whereas a bottle of a cleaning product is recyclable. BUT the pumps and spray nozzles (that come with EACH) are not. And so few people and municipalities in the US even recycle.

BUT, BUT!!! Though most refill pouches are not recyclable, Common Good – one of my favorite refillable cleaning product and home product companies – does have recyclable packaging! So, the problem with other pouches is that they’re made of multiple kinds of plastic (signified by those numbers in the recycling symbol).

Common Good’s pouches, however, are made entirely out of plastic #4 (Low-Density Polyethylene). They ARE NOT curbside recyclable, but you can include them in the plastic bag recycling. The caps MUST be cut off, however, as they’re #7 plastic.

Common Good Refillable Cleaning Products

Common Good is a national refillable cleaning products brand, offering large boxes for refill stores and small pouches for those of us who don’t live near a refill store! And now they have these adorable glass containers for your refill needs.

They’re among my favorite non toxic cleaning products brands!
