beecee just hit the market, positioning itself as a clean beauty brand designed for younger skin (think teens and 20s). With five products representing their entire lineup, here is my beecee skincare review on how clean they are, how to use the products, and who the beecee skincare line is best for.

As someone obsessed with sustainability and skincare, it’s no surprise that beecee is on my radar. I remember my mom taking me to the mall when I was 15 to get a skincare regimen. Since then, I’ve washed my face every morning and every night. I think that establishing a good skincare routine is really important not just for skin health but also for sense of self. It also provides a sense of routine that has recentered me on numerous occasions.

I can go on and on about my love for skincare, but let’s talk about beecee because it’s not just another clean brand, it’s a brand designed specifically for younger skin. No serums, no masks. Just the basics because young skin needs nurture and consistency – nothing more!

What is beecee?

beecee is a sub-division of Counter (formerly Beautycounter). In the 2010s, Beautycounter was the groundbreaking brand that really put clean beauty on the map, providing great skincare and makeup lines. They advocated for legislation to limit toxic ingredients in everyone’s personal care items in the US.

In 2024, operations hit pause for a year because returning as Counter (Beautycounter 2.0 in a way). You can read my complete, honest Counter beauty review here for more information. Whereas Beautycounter offered a few products for younger skin, Counter has come back as a brand for women—really ages 40 and up (though I used their products in my 30s).

beecee is their line dedicated to that younger demographic because let’s be real teens and 50 year olds don’t need the same skincare and we don’t want to be using the same items.

At launch, beecee offers 5 products. There are 4 skincare items and one lip gloss. The items are:

Well-Rounded Bar

The beecee Well-Rounded Bar is a facial cleansing bar designed to gently remove dirt, oil, sunscreen, and light makeup without leaving skin feeling stripped. It can also be used on the body and as a shaving bar.

I like this as a simple starter cleanser, especially for someone who is new to having a skincare routine. The EWG Skin Deep Build Your Own Report gave it a score of 2, with glycerin and vanillin among the ingredients noted.

Superfine Mist

The beecee Superfine Mist is a lightweight facial and body mist that adds hydration without feeling sticky or heavy. Use it after cleansing, throughout the day, or even over makeup.

The mist is incredibly fine, which makes it especially nice for a quick hydration boost. It received an official EWG Skin Deep score of 2 (more below).

Dewy Gel Cream

The beecee Dewy Gel Cream is a lightweight moisturizer made to hydrate without feeling heavy or greasy. It contains hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and lightweight lipids and is designed for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

I think this is a particularly good fit for younger skin that may be dealing with breakouts but still needs consistent hydration.

Everything Balm

The beecee Everything Balm is exactly what it sounds like: one balm for all those little dry spots. Use it on lips, cuticles, dry patches, elbows, or anywhere else that needs extra moisture.

I’ve been using it on my lips and cuticles, and I also plan to use it on my face when my skin needs extra protection from dry air.

Jelly Gloss

The beecee Jelly Gloss is a high-shine lip gloss with a sheer pink tint and sweet watermelon scent. Of the five products, this is the one I’d skip.

The scent is a little too sweet and strong for my taste, and the ingredient profile doesn’t meet my clean beauty standards as well as the rest of the line.

How to use beecee skincare

The beecee skincare routine is incredibly straightforward, which is great! Here’s how to use the skincare products:

MORNING/EVENING ROUTINE:

1. Well-Rounded Bar — cleanse
2. Superfine Mist — hydrate
3. Dewy Gel Cream — moisturize
4. (morning only) SPF 30+

Is beecee cruelty free?

yes. The beecee brand and its five products are all Leaping Bunny certified. Their products and product ingredients are never tested on animals.

Is beecee clean?

It’s important to note that when talking about clean beauty, you want to look at each product, not a brand overall. A brand might make clean products, but not every product is necessarily clean.

Generally speaking, yes, beecee skincare is clean – with one exception (the jelly gloss). I’d consider four of the five launch products to fit my personal definition of clean beauty. Most if not all Counter products are EWG-verified as clean and nontoxic, so I expected the same integrity from beecee. I’m actually a bit shocked about the gloss

As of today, only one product has been officially scored by EWG. For the remaining products, I used the skin deep database “build your own report.” These scores are therefore a guideline, not an official grading of the item. I’ll keep checking to see if/when products receive an official score and I will update this post accordingly.

EWG scores on a scale of 1-10. Ratings 1-3 are considered safe – everyone has their own standards, so use these as a guideline for yourself.

I looked at the beecee ingredients for each product and compared them using EWG’s Skin Deep database. Here’s what I found:

So, is beecee clean? Based on my review of the ingredient lists and EWG Skin Deep data, I’d consider four of the five launch products to fit my personal definition of clean beauty. The Jelly Gloss is the exception.

Is beecee good for teenagers?

Yes—the line was specifically designed for younger skin, particularly teens and people in their 20s.

Beyond that, I’d look at the Counter line as it’s designed for women ages 30 to 100! Start with the Counterglow line and move to the Countertime line as you find your skin needing more actives and heavier hydration.

Is beecee worth it?

If you’re looking for a great starter skincare routine for yourself or a younger woman, I think beecee is perfect. The core routine has just three steps—cleanse, hydrate, and moisturize—which is really all you need for a simple everyday routine.

They do currently offer two sets that provide savings. The Routine Set with all five products offers nearly 33% savings. The Do-It-All Duo has the Everything Balm and the Facial Mist with 15% savings.

Overall beecee Review

I’m really excited about this line (except the Jelly Gloss). I like that it’s clean and that it’s really in tune with what younger skin actually needs – no trying to overdo it with serums and products. Simple is best.
