Best Bras for Small Busts {the “Luci” Bra Launch}
Today is an incredibly exciting day. After wearing The Little Bra Company bras exclusively for 12 years, today the “Luci” bra launches! Best Bras for Small Busts
For those of us with small busts, we know all too well how bras are designed for our size – bralettes, one-hook in the back, and often flimsily made (usually feeling like something designed for a young teenager).
I’m not sure I ever really had a teenage body (I’ve never been lean and curve-less), but after one pregnancy and at nearly 40, I certainly don’t have one now. But my chest isn’t big (I about a 36B), so finding the best bras for my small bust was life-changing. I stumbled on TLBC in 2013 and never looked back! Bras for Small Breasts
Bras are one of the most important things in our wardrobe and many of us wear bras that aren’t the right size and/or aren’t made for our bodies. If you think we’re all built similarly, it’s time for a wake up call.
Not only do your band and cup size matter. Things like which way your breasts fall, how far apart they are, and the distance from your shoulder to your bust are all important factors to a bra’s fit. And let’s not forget the space between our armpits and chest. Our busts are different and we deserve bras built to shape and support us. We deserve bras that feel good and look good.
The space for large busted bras is growing and now, thankfully, so is the space for bras for small busts – no longer bralettes and “starter” bras built for teenagers. It’s with all this in mind that TLBC makes bras in these smaller sizes featuring gorgeous detailing, offering minimal to maximum padding options, designing with and without wires, and providing adequate support for the busy lives of us women!
Padded Bras for Small Busts
One of the funny (to me) things about the world of small chested bras is that many companies assume small breasted people don’t want padding. There is a time and a place for every level of padding, but somewhere between the extreme padding and no padding is where I live day to day! So, yes, I’d like some oomph in my bra even if I don’t naturally have much oomph there.
Best Bras for Wide Set Breasts
When I discovered The Little Bra Company, what blew my mind away the most wasn’t the great bras for small busts, but it was the measurement between my breasts. If you can fit 2 or fewer fingers between your breasts, you’re narrow set. If you can fit 3 or more fingers between your breasts, you’re wide set.
I am most certainly wide set, which means bras that have no space between the cups never work for me – a very common design for small bra sizes! I never knew this was what I really struggled with all those years.
I have yet to find other companies that take this distance into account for small busts, which is why I think TLBC make the best bras for wide set breasts because they’re the only company that makes bras for wide set breasts!!
The Luci Bra
Ok, so let’s get to my perfectly designed bra – the Luci! I designed this with Emily, the founder of TLBC, based on my 3 favorite bras – The Yvonne, The Francesca, and the Caroline.
A few things to note. I am wide-set, so this bra is based on three styles that work for wide set frames. There is an extra panel on the band, providing a higher rise under the arm (great for that extra bit over there). The bra is designed to provide lift and shape to everyone and it has a removable pad.
I love the elegance of lace beyond just a few details here and there. As you can see, there is beautiful lace all over the bra. It adds that sexy appeal but there’s no integrity lost because of the double fabric placement of it. The cups themselves, however, don’t have lace in the part that will sit under your top or tee, so you’ll have smooth coverage with that lacy vibe.
And the oomph factor on this one is pretty big. It’s got some serious padding, but it’s not trying to force a cleavage line that’s nearly impossible for me. It’s a quintessentially sexy and still wildly comfortable bra!
And then the olive green color. Many of you know I basically love every shade of black, but the olive green is such a gorgeous neutral and the options in this ‘fun’ color are limited, especially for wide set breasts, so get your fall and winter self in shape with the Luci bra.
One more super important thing was that I needed a sustainability factor, right? So, all Luci bras are shipped in biodegradable bags – not the single use plastic kind. Just throw away the bag like normal but know it will break down, not last for hundreds or thousands of years!!
