Bombas Socks Review

Bombas Socks Review

I never used to care much about socks besides them being cute. While cute is a contributing factor, I now have far more criteria for me to deem a sock great! Rarely is there a single brand that I deem completely filling all my needs, but Bombas has it all! So here is my full Bombas socks review…

I bought my first pair of Bombas socks just after we moved to Sacramento. I was walking through our local Nordstrom and spotted a pair of hiking socks. A friend had mentioned that she wore hiking socks in colder weather, so I wanted to give it a try. They were light purple crew socks, and they were perfect!

Slowly as I’ve needed more socks, I bought more. Bombas crew socks (hiking and wool) are my go tos in cold weather. Their ankle socks are practically all I wear to work out and with my sneakers. I’ve even tried their no show socks and love them!!

Besides just being a wonderful quality sock, they fit well (pay attention to the sizes) and they feel supportive. Not compression-sock-supportive (though they have those as well) – just a good kind of cushion and support around your precious feet!

Sustainable Socks

You can see a lot more brands of sustainable socks in my other post. There are loads of great options, but Bombas are my absolute favorite.

The brand is a B Corp (READ: B Corporation Meaning). The company is based on the one-for-one model. For every pair of socks purchased, a pair is donated to a homeless shelter.

The company also sells sustainable underwear and shirts with the same business model. While I haven’t tried the brand’s former options (though I have a few friends who love them), I have bought one shirt and really love it.

This black tank top was a simple, soft tank that’s the perfect summer shirt. I’m looking forward to trying out a few other cuts and silhouettes.

But it’s the Bombas socks that are the perfection in my mind (and the center of this review)!

Sock Sizing

If you’ve never thought much about sock sizing, I’ll warn you to start paying attention. I’m generally a 7.5-8 in shoes. I accidentally bought the right size my first time, and the wrong size the second time. The thing is, the small says up to size 7.5 and then the medium starts at an 8. So if you’re right on the cusp of sizes, I would suggest ordering down. Otherwise, they’ll be true to size! Now I know that I’m a small in Bombas socks and it’s all good from here on out!!

Bombas for Kids

Our first or second cold season with Conrad, I bought the toddler gripper socks. With a new walker on hardwood floors, the grips were a must. They were thick and wonderful!!

Sadly, there seems to be a  missing gap in their kid sizes (the only con in my Bombas socks review – I love them that much). Once he sized out of the toddler socks, the next size is “youth” and it’s still too big two years later. I’ve found other options to fill this time, but I’m looking forward to him being able to wear Bombas again!

Bombas Collaborations

You know I love a basic black, white, or grey, but I’m a fan of quite a few of the colors Bombas offers. The merino wool were a favorite addition to my undergarment drawer last year. They’re an essential in my winter capsule wardrobe!

They also have a new Pixar collaboration that is absolutely adorable!! In the past they’ve done collaborations with artists, Disney, Eric Carle, and so many more.
