Sustainable Activewear

You’ve probably heard about the recycled plastic water bottle workout wear companies, so you won’t be surprised to hear about sustainable activewear.

Sustainable Activewear
Sustainable activewear, like sustainable swimwear, is complicated. It’s complicated because we want it to flatter our bodies, look good, and withstand all that use and sweaty movement (just being real here – evening a morning walk in these hot summer months is a sweaty affair).
You know I’m all about that organic women’s clothing, but materials like cotton and linen really can’t do everything we need in workout wear, so the conversation has to progress.

PlantTecโข Compression Tank | Eclipse
Fair Trade factory, Organic Cotton, & animal- and cruelty-free, Climate Neutral
Obviously when talking about cotton, organic cotton and even recycled cotton are ideal, but what about all those plastic-y materials that help with stretch and movement – think polyester, rayon, spandex, and nylon?
Well, the great news is just like all those stylish recycled products I shared, there are a slew (and growing number) of recycled options. Single use anything, but especially single use plastic is the worst, but if you can recycled that plastic into something that’ll get worn and worn, then that’s a sustainable win in my book!

Active Soft Knit Light Crew Tank
Made from recycled materials, Certified B Corp, & Certified Climate Neutral

PlantTecโข Reversible Short Sleeve Tee
Fair Trade factory, Organic Cotton, & animal- and cruelty-free, Climate Neutral
And then, obviously, things the company is doing also help. Some companies are B Corps (See B Corp meaning), some are climate neutral and/or carbon neutral, some use fair trade and ethical factories. Any and all are so good!

Long-Sleeved Capileneยฎ Cool Merino
