I’ve shared my recent discovery of The Butcher’s Daughter restaurant here in LA. They have great food, but what I really love is their watermelon juice. It’s so good that I’ve been non stop craving a watermelon drink this summer, which is actually fine because it is SO EASY to make.
And this super simple recipe is my delicious homemade answer to all I could ever want in a summer drink…
I served watermelon juice (watch the video below!) with sparkling water a few weeks ago and while it was refreshing, it wasn’t as satisfying as I wanted it to be.
IZZE inspired me to celebrate National Watermelon Day (tomorrow – August 3rd) with their Organic Raspberry Watermelon Sparkling Water and I knew just how I wanted to celebrate. I combined the watermelon juice with the very slightly sweetened sparkling water and fizzy perfection transpired in the kitchen.
My watermelon drink (a mocktail of sorts) was even better than I imagined and now I’m so excited to have such an easy drink to sip on in this summer heat.
I shared the drink on Snapchat and I had immediate responses from my followers asking when the recipe would be available. Luckily it’s so easy, I can make enough for everybody!
Watermelon Drink Recipe
While some fruits require special machinery to juice them, making watermelon juice couldn’t be easier. All you have to do is put cut up watermelon in a food processor or blender. It always gets juicier than I think, so be sure to allow for lots of liquid!
Once you have the watermelon juice, you can make any kind of watermelon drink recipe you like. I’m a big fan of drinking it straight or with a twist of lime (I seriously don’t know how something so simple can taste so good), but it’s really sublime with the flavored IZZE sparkling water!!
