Is Beautycounter Coming Back?

Last year, a pioneer in clean beauty, Beautycounter, temporarily closed its doors to the public with an unknown date of return. We all scrambled to make do, many finding alternatives until we knew more. At nearly a year later, we finally have an answer to the question, Is Beautycounter coming back?

Is Beautycounter Coming back?
I’m assuming you’re here because you’re familiar with Beautycounter. If you never tried their products, you are missing out. You can read my full review of the best Beautycounter products. In essence, the line was innovative in how natural and clean it was as well as how amazing it was to use – effective with a great user experience.
And for those of us who worked with the company, we want to know: is Beautycounter coming back and if they plan to have advocates like they did before.
On May 12, the founder of Beautycounter, Gregg Renfrew did a Town Hall meeting with former advocates and gave us all the info. Here it is…

When is Beautycounter coming back?
The company will now be called COUNTER Beauty. It stems from the ideas of being counter to the current beauty industry. Itโs a statement and an ethos. The company is still led by the mission to give truly clean beauty to all women. The company is still driven to get legal changes on the standards that dictate what is available to us on the market.
In terms of the products, there are some changes. 90% of the company’s income was coming from 20% of the products, so there had to be a change. There will be a more streamlined approach to products as well as a new line of products that meet the rigorous standards of Counter. Perfume will not be coming back at this timeAnd the expected launch date is June 25, 2025!
Will there be Advocates like before?
The short answer is no. The brand is switching to more of an affiliate model.
The initial group of “advocates” will be from those before and will be a smaller group to get started – by invite only. Invites have already gone out to this initial group.
According to the contract new affiliates had to sign, this will be an affiliate-model. Customers will not be attached to a specific advocate, so if Friend A buys once from an advocate, they will receive commission. But if they buy again without having just clicked the advocate’s link, they will not receive commission.
The affiliate platform isn’t on a public platform but rather run through Counter’s site.
Will Beautycounter be the same as before?
Besides the name and the lack of advocated tethered to customers, there are a few more differences. Some products are not coming back (at least not for now). In order to build a good business and maintain the same standard of very clean, streamlining and downsizing needs to happen for now.
Beautycounter Alternatives
Now that that’s settled, we have a date and a bit of information. In the meantime, I’ve spent the last year trying out other brands to see what compares and here’s what I’ve found for all the fan favorites.
If you love the Beautycounter Cleansing Oil, give this cleansing balm a shot. It’s a gel rather than an oil, but it goes on just as easily and cleans off as well (with a bit more moisture added in). Use code 20LUCI for 20% off your first purchase.
If you love the Beautycounter All Bright Vitamin C, you HAVE to try this vitamin C serum. It’s the best vitamin C serum I’ve ever tried. I noticed results within a week of using it (following using the BC version) – it’s that good. Use code ADVOCATE10 for 10% off your first purchase.
If you love the Beautycounter Reflect Effect Mask, try this exfoliating mask. My friends and I all like it even better – a nicer scent, a finer scrub, and a MUCH better price. It’s the best exfoliating facial mask. See my Crunchi discount code for more details on the best products.
If you loved BC’s DewSkin, try this Sunlight Tinted SPF with an SPF of 30. It has fabulous coverage and can be worn alone or used as a foundation – it’s that multidimensional!
Clean Skincare
I’m a bit of a clean skincare fanatic, but it’s been a lot of learning. If you’re really starting fresh, you’ll want to figure out what your skin type is.
