Suri Toothbrush Review

I’ve been a manual tooth brusher for decades now, but after my hygeniest recently commented on my increasing surface area, I decided to look into electric toothbrushes since they’re touted to clean better. Not long after, I connected with Suri, a B-Corp electric toothbrush brand to see if I could try out their popular model and here is my full Suri Toothbrush Review.

In short, I absolutely love it. It’s a great experience; my teeth feel SO CLEAN after every use; and I’m actually looking forward to my next dentist appointment to see what my hygienist says about my teeth! Get Yours Here.

Suri Toothbrush Review

While I was interested in getting an electric toothbrush, I didn’t know which one to get. I’ve tried a few in the past and just really appreciated my manual tooth brushing. I also am concerned about sustainability, so finding something made entirely of plastic that would just keep ending up in the trash was a turn off.

Suri, a UK brand, was apparently concerned about the same things because parts of the toothbrush are plant-based (no plastic!) and they have a recycling program for their brush heads.

Can I tell you the funny thing that sealed the deal for me on the Suri toothbrush though? It comes with a beautiful carrying case that has a UV light to kill germs. I’m not normally a germaphobic person, but I loved the idea of having the cleaning optin!

Furthermore, their electric toothbrushes are sleek and they live beautifully in my bathroom – no funky stand and cord thing – there’s a magnetic mirror mount (which I have on the side of our medicine cabinet) and they come in a variety of colors!

Ok, Lots of features and accessories to be aware of…

Magnetic Mount

I mentioned above. There’s 1×2″ oval mount. It has a sticker backing and then attaches to your toothbrush magnetically. You can put it wherever you want and you can have multiple electric brush without them taking up your entire counter space!

Wireless Charge Stand & Charge Times

The charging stand is very compact and has a USB-C adapter. It doesn’t come with the USB-C plug, but it’s the same as my phone, so I just use the same plug.

A single charge is touted to last 4+ weeks – and so far that’s true. I took it on our 2 week trip to Europe recently and it lasted beautifully through the whole trip – and beyond!

When the battery is low, the small light on the front flashes red when you start brushing. It did this to me for a few days (with 2x daily brushing) before it finally died.

I will note that such a long charge time means that it takes a while to charge. I haven’t timed it yet, but it was more than 4 hours! I think that’s totally fine, just something to be aware of when the time comes for you to charge your toothbrush!

Both the charge stand and magnetic mout come with just the brush purchase – the traveling case and spare brush heads is what’s not included.

Plant-Based Brush Head

Ahhh, the plastic-less-ness. The brush heads (the parts that are replaced over time) are plant-based – made from cornstarch and castor oil. These aren’t recyclable or compostable – it just means they aren’t made from any plastic, but that’s where their recycling program comes in…

Recycling Program for Brush Heads

While the brush head and cover are plant-based, there’s no way to dispose of them without just putting them in the trash. Suri offers a free recycling program for brush heads. My electric toothbrush included a prepaid shipping bag and label for returning the brush head.

Travel Case w. UV Light

You can also add the traveling case to your order. The travel case isn’t mandatory, but it is nice since the toothbrush might not fit in a standard toiletry bag. I was extra intrigued byt he travel case because it has a UV-light feature to sterilize your toothbrush – and who couldn’t use that every once in a while!

30-second Intervals

Like many electric toothbrushes these days, it vibrates at 30-second intervals to help you know when to move to each quadrant in your mouth.

2-minute automatic turn off

The toothbrush also turns off after 2 minutes of brushing time, so you always know when you’ve hit the mark!

2 Levels of Cleaning

There are two levels of cleaning (vibration). Level one is less intense and is shown by a white light when turned on. Level two offer increased vibrations and is represented by a blue light – I use this level.

You can always switched between the levels and the bursh will automatically go to the level you last used!

Pressure Sensor & Vibration for Proper Cleaning

To make sure you’re getting a proper cleaning, the brush will do a quick succession of vibrations if the pressure is off for it to perform as well as promised. It happens to me occasionally when I’m pressing too hard on the toothbrush or I close my mouth too tightly – just a nice reminder.

B Corp

Not about the brush itself, but SURI is a B-corp company. You can read more about the B-corporation meaning and find other companies doing good for the earth and people.

Sustainable Electric Toothbrush

So what makes the SURI toothbrush a sustainable electric toothbrush? A few things. First the fact that replaceable parts of the unti are plant-based instead of plastic is a major win. They also offer a free recycling program for parts that would otherwise end up in the landfill.

They also receied accolades for the employee pay and treatment – a big part of how they earned a B Corp status!
