Sustainable Bedding Brands
I’m kind of picky about my bedding. I want it to be delightfully comfortable (warm/cool as needed) and I want it to be durable. We don’t own many sheet sets (really one set per season – flannel and a cotton set), so I need them to stand up to constant use and washing! And now I’m looking into sustainable bedding brands and options before we buy bedding again.
Just like being interested in organic cotton over standard cotton and being attracted to anything OEKO-TEX, thinking about the sheets that we smother ourselves in every night for hours on end seems important.
They’re also an investment – for the amount of use and the cost – , so it’s rather a big decision in my book.

Sustainable Bedding Brands
When it comes to bed sheets, there are a slew of things to take into account. What materials are used? What dyes are/aren’t used? Where were they sheets made? Are the people making this product treated with respect.
You know as part of my approach to sustainable living, I encourage you not to find the perfect thing all the time. Start with the better thing – even if it’s only one aspect that’s better. Honestly, all our efforts to be better are what really makes a difference.
Below are a slew of brands, highlighting what each of them is doing well, and a small selection of products from each to help you see if their vibe and your vibe match up. Let’s be real, as much as we want it to be sustainable, you also need to love the product at the end of the day, so you’ll care for it and hold on to it as long as possible!
And don’t forget to enjoy your sustainable furniture and bedroom in the women’s pajama sets that are perfect year round!!!

SIJO
SIJO specializes in sustainable bedding products for households. Their products are designed to have minimal environmental impact. They use natural materials, such as cotton and bamboo, which are grown organically without the use of harmful chemicals or dyes.
Additionally, all of their items are made with low-impact production techniques that conserve resources and reduce waste.
SIJO is committed to sourcing its materials from responsibly managed forests. The eucalyptus trees used for the TENCEL lyocell are felled, not uprooted, and don’t need to be continuously planted to maintain production. This type of harvesting has been found to reduce the impact of deforestation and prevent soil erosion.
Lyocell and tencel are also biodegradable and compostable (even home compostable). With the natural dyes, these sheets, too, are wholly compostable or biodegradable. If they are sent to the landfill at the end of their use (in a long, long time 😉), at least you know they’ll eventually break down completely.
