Natural Lip Gloss

Natural Lip Glosses

When it comes to clean beauty, there are lots of terms used interchangeably (few of which mean anything). But when it comes to finding exactly the right lip product, there’s nothing interchangeable about it. So here are a slew of natural lip gloss options, including organic, vegan, and Beautycounter lip gloss options and details

Natural Lip Gloss

As I mentioned above, the terms for natural, clean, and even non-toxic beauty are complicated. We all have our own definitions and none of those terms has a certified or definitively defined existence.

And since I’m no scientist or health experts, I usually just leave it to the people who are. You can see who I trust for non toxic makeup and some of my go to clean beauty brands (of course these Beautycounter products are my FAVORITE)!

There are a number of apps and website that help you “grade” products. EWG’s Skin Deep is a great place to start (app also available). You can search by brand, ingredient, or product (makeup, skincare, hair care, baby products, and dental items).

Funny enough, I like to use the term clean beauty, but the most popular searches are for a natural lip gloss. Some people are specifically looking for organic lip glosses and others, vegan lip gloss. The great thing about these last two (organic and vegan) is that those terms are definitive and there are certifications.

Organic Lip Gloss

Now, I love anything organic. I often opt for organic produce and even items like organic women’s clothing are a normal thing in my book. Organic farming is better for the earth and, often, better for you.

Things do get complicated in that the organic certification process is prohibitively expensive. But when it comes to makeup, there is almost no way for an item to be entirely organic.

Rather they tend to use organic ingredient as much as possible. Even beloved brands like Osmia got away from calling themselves Osmia Organics, not because they aren’t focused on organic ingredients, but it’s nearly impossible to really be organic.

Below, however, are two organic lip gloss options from two companies I really like – Beautycounter and Kjaer Weiss (a refillable makeup brand)!

Beautycounter Lip Gloss

So besides being a B Corp (see B corp meaning), Beautycounter is female-owned, California-based, and a leader in clean beauty. And, possibly most importantly, they make WONDERFUL products.

Their range of lip products are no exception – conditioning, moisturizing, and pleasurable to use, including the Beautycounter lip gloss (an organic lip gloss to boot).

I will note that all products listed here are cleanER, but this Beautycounter lip gloss is that only one that’s EWG verified.
