Summer Jeans You’ll Want to Wear

As a self-professed denim lover, you won’t be surprised to know that I like wearing summer jeans too – after all, one’s heart doesn’t just change with the seasons. And while I’m forced to wear shorts and dresses in the summer months (thank goodness for these trendy organic cotton denim shorts), I still always have a pair (or two) of looser jeans I can happily wear in the summer.

Here are a few things to note about summer jeans. First, they really can’t be super tight. You have to have some room for a cool breeze (or a well placed A/C vent) to stay cool. I often have a rather loose pair and a more tailored option. These amazing sustainable jeans are my tailored pants for the summer!

The second thing I like to look for in summer jeans is a shorter hem. Most “cropped” jeans are only just on me – coming to my ankle because my legs aren’t very long. I love an ankle length pant, so this is fine. This also lets me roll up my jeans (a nice, even cuff) without too much bulk, which is another mainstay for me.

What Shoes to Wear with Cropped Jeans?

This really depends on the shoe. You can see here that I’m wearing a very low heeled sandal. I’ve also worn these with my Sarah Flint wedges (see them in this summer dress outfit – perfect for 80° and up), but with those wedges, I often cuff the jeans a bit.

So, really, you can wear any shoe – sneaker to heel with cropped jeans. For the most part, I’d avoid anything higher than an ankle strap unless it fits nicely under your jeans as a wider leg doesn’t tuck in well.
